II- Project approach

01Integrated into the space: in terms of complementarity and convergence of stakeholders

02Territorialized: focused on homogeneous socio-territorial entities

03Participatory: placing representatives of the population at the center of implementation

04Based on vertical integration: upstream-downstream for the development of sectors

Primary objective

To improve the living conditions of rural communities in a sustainable manner by strengthening the capacities of smallholder farmers, livestock breeders, beekeepers, unemployed youth, women, and landless households.

Specific objectives

The project seeks to increase incomes, promote social inclusion, and reduce the vulnerability of populations to the effects of climate change. Through an integrated, participatory, and sustainable approach, PADERMO focuses on promoting local industries such as arboriculture, livestock farming, and beekeeping, while also promoting rural entrepreneurship, natural resource conservation, and gender equality.

Strategic priorities

  • Diversify and secure sources of income
  • Develop resilient agricultural production
  • Improve the marketing of local products
  • Create economic opportunities for women and young people through tailored training and better access to finance

Drawing on lessons learned from previous IFAD interventions, the project targets the most vulnerable areas and incorporates enhanced technical assistance to ensure the sustainability of actions and the strengthening of local capacities.
